Over the years, Anya and I have gone on bike journeys in Australia, Belgium, China, Denmark, France and Germany -and whilst we have enjoyed every journey, each one quite different, at the end of the day, the ultimate bike riding country remains The Netherlands. It can be truly be said to be the home of the bike – and the bike path. No other country comes close to the number and extent of its bike paths, which criss cross the country and are numbered – maps can be purchased detailing the paths for each region.
