China in Black and White

The following photos were taken with a manual Olympus Om1 using Kodak Tri X film.

They were taken in 1990, directly after the carnage at Tiananmen Square. Most tourists had left and the country was still in the Maoist time frame, with almost everyone still wearing the blue suites and riding bikes. There were very few cars. It was a different era alright.
